Odd Updates and List.

Wed Mar 11, 2009, 10:32 AM
Well, updating my journal every half year seems to be what I enjoy most on this site. Well, some interesting things happening in my life would include going to Red Deer College for the B of FA. I get awfully stressed, tired, and find I have no time to document anything.

I cannot wait for second year because I will be able to deviate slightly to my own styling. I am planning on taking print making and ceramics as my majors, as well as drawing and art history. Fun.

I love the people here.

Well, anyways, I am getting to my point. I want to buy a projector and tracing table. These tools are AMAZING. I am capable of taking a sketch and re-trace it so it is cleaner, then project it onto a board and paint from there! I love the whole method of that.

I also need a camera. :C

I have one drawing, one painting, and one ceramic piece in th Second Year Show held at the Museum. So, I am really excited about that. I got a study of apples, my "Gentle Afterthoughts" ceramic piece which entails two penises sprouting from a bowl with the opening of a grotesque vagina, and a study of a plaster eye and nose painting.

why do we kill people who kill people to show that killing people is wrong?
:iconanalindulgence:
Buying a camera, using one, and getting them developed (or downloaded) is something anyone can do. However, to be able to take this form of documenting moments and create fine works of art requires both skill, talent, and practise. Good on you for using the common household tool and using it to the best of your abilities. It is well worth it.

Thank you for knowing how to draw so well, my instructor would absolutely love your drawings. They have such a lovely raw quality, much like Renaissance Master's sketches.

Wow, I am so flattered by your compliment:blushes: It really means a lot to me, because Renaissance-style art has always been my favorite, and my inspiration. It makes me feel really good to know that my work is exuding that look. Thanks a bunch for the comment, it made my day:blushes::hug:

Well, you are very welcome. I just love your mark making. Today it seems, on deviant art, that a lot of people are using a strong graphic approach to their work or working it until it is extremely refined. I love how your work looks effortless and free (much like master's sketches). Mark making defiantly adds a whole different tone, depth, and texture. So, good on you.

I sense what you've seen about the increasing graphic approach and extreme refinement too. "Free" is the key word there for me.. I can't work on refining a drawing for too long. Usually it's three days tops for me. I don't know if I'm just lazy, or what, but if I force myself to work on a drawing too long in order to make it look completely photo-realistic, I think the drawing ends up dying and is drained of life and any rhythm of line. Rather than looking like a work of art, it just ends up looking like a photograph that 'isn't quite right'.

Thank you very much again:blushes: I really am flattered. It's compliments like yours that keep me going with this artwork.
